EZ Editor Tips and Guidelines

EZ editor is installed as a script on your site and is customized. After  EZ Editor has been set up. You can go to the page you want to edit and select ctrl and Y, and log in with the user name and password you were sent.

Please take the time to view the tutorial videos that can be accessed from clicking the ? mark.

EZ editor only allows you to edit "content" within your website, not the template or the sites navigation links. While EZ Editor
is as simple to use as a Word Processor a few helpful hints and tips can make use int much better.

Photos
Forethought and planning can make inserting new pictures into the webpage easy and productive. However inserting photo
inprorperly can cause your site to greatly slow down, or even crash.

Please keep this important tip in mind you MUST resize photos BEFORE uploading
to the site or you will blow it apart

Information on photos can be found here

Photos taken from a camera or scanner are not usually "web ready" and should resized to actuall size before uploading. Resizing photos after inserted into a web page does not work... it is really still the same size. If you need help with photos, just ask!

Text and special formating.
Your site has been most likely set up with a "style sheet" that controls how text behaves and looks. What you see in the editor might not be what you see on the live page, because of this while editing the text keep in mind to keep it the same or consisten. Again if you have any questions please ask!

While your EZ editor interface does look like a word processor, we don't recommend "going nuts" with unconventional formating. Sometimes it may just plain "break" the template or distort it. We recommend using EZ Edit for light edits until you get familiar with the interface. Major changes, additions and massive formating should be done with forethought, planning and any questions asked/ answered!

Also as with any Word processor, your edits and changes can be lost or undone with an accidental click of a mouse or button. We find it helpful to "copy" and "paste" into a "blank" email as a back up or even as place to do your edits..then you will have a back up copy.

With this all said, any "fixes" done by us after this is installed could be considered an "edit"
Hope this helps and please ask any questions!
