Attach a File to an E-Mail Message
It's easy to attach files to e-mail in Outlook Express
Whether it be picture , document, or a special file It is
alot like "paper-clipping " something to a letter. First
Compose or at least Create a New Message, (replying will
work to!) In your message, click the Attach button. Or if
this is not showing click >Insert> File Attachment . Browse
until you find the file you want to attach as shown below.
Most times this will be in either My Documents or My
Pictures, depending on where you store your files. Click
the file, and then click Attach button. If you want to
enclose more than one file, repeat steps 1 through 3. When
you are done you will now see a line appear below Subject
with the name of your file in side. Finish the message if
you haven't already, and click the Send button. Remember
that in most instances, a copy of your sent file is put in
your Sent Folder, if you don't delete these your email
program will start to hang and slow down.
File size matters.
Check the size of files before you send them. If they 're a
megabyte or larger, think about asking the recipient if they
can, or want to, receive the file. Or, consider compressing
large files or resizing the pictures before you send them.
Sending files that are too large can cause your system to
hang or crash , as well as the receiver! Planning ahead
really saves both you a headache. I have a downloadable
program that will resize photos in the download area
Look for a download called "A Smaller Image"
